PMU-B Hosts PMU-B Quantum Consortium NetworkingAdvancing human capital through quantum technology research in collaboration with QTRic.

The Program Management Unit for Human Resources and Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) organized the 1st PMU-B Quantum Consortium Networking Meeting for Fiscal Year 2024 on July 4–5, 2024, at The Paz Khao Yai Hotel, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration in research and human capital development in Quantum Technology across the ASEAN region.
The event was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phulsak Koseeyaporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), who presided over the opening ceremony. Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Samrueng Jakjai, Prof. Dr. Sakda Daduang, Dr. Wisit Taweprangsaporn, and Mr. Jirawut Kanokarun.
Representing PMU-B were Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinan Kulchat, Deputy Director; Ms. Jaturaporn Chokphukiaw, Chair of the SHA and AI Frontier Research Cluster; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rina Patramanon, Chair of the Frontier Technology Research Cluster, along with PMU-B analysts.
The event was held in collaboration with the Quantum Technology Research Initiative Collaboration (QTRic), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worawat Meevasana.
The conference was honored by the participation of leading experts in Quantum Technology from both Thailand and abroad, who shared their knowledge and experiences with attendees.
The event also featured the launch of a special lecture series under the theme:"Building Responsible Quantum Technology in the ASEAN Context: Building Interdisciplinary and Intersectoral Communities—Equity and Responsibility in Quantum Technology."
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Clarissa Ai Ling Lee from Multimedia University and the Asia School of Business, focusing on the development of responsible quantum technologies and the importance of fostering collaboration across disciplines and sectors within the ASEAN region.

The event also featured a presentation on the progress of the Quantum Valley Initiative, which focuses on building Thailand’s workforce in Quantum Technology. The initiative aims to prepare the country for future challenges and opportunities by uniting researchers and academics to exchange knowledge and establish a strong academic collaboration network in the field.

The PMU-B Quantum Consortium Networking Meeting marks a significant milestone in advancing Thailand’s human capital development and technological innovation. It aims to support the growth of future industries and strengthen the country’s economic and social resilience in the era of emerging technologies.
