PMU-B Hosts Strategic Meeting on Research Projects for High-Level Human Capital Development and Songkran Water-Pouring Ceremony

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) organized a strategic meeting to discuss key national research projects aimed at building high-level human capital. The event also featured a Songkran water-pouring ceremony to celebrate the traditional Thai New Year and promote well-being among participants.


🕒 15:30 – Advanced Nanomaterials for CO₂ Capture, Storage, and Utilization

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sriprajuck presented the background and significance of the research project, including its sub-projects and its consortium-based collaboration with interdisciplinary agencies. He outlined the project’s implementation plan designed to integrate processes that generate both tangible outputs and the development of skilled human capital. The discussion also addressed national policy alignment and the role of advanced technologies and innovations in addressing climate challenges.


🕓 16:00 – Learning Ecosystem Model Integrating Coding & AI for Youth

The session introduced the project's objectives and structure, highlighting cooperation between government and private sectors. The project aims to build a transformative learning model through technology-enhanced education, providing diverse access pathways to coding skills. It includes frameworks for knowledge level assessment, learner progression criteria, and gap analysis to continuously improve learning effectiveness and support future project scalability.

Prof. Dr. Sompong Klai-Nongsuang, PMU-B Director, proposed hosting at least one regional conference during the project term to raise awareness and enhance outreach.Ms. Jaturaporn Chokphukhiow, Chair of the SHA and AI Cluster at PMU-B, discussed the pathway for 1,000 participants per level to be selected for experiential training with Google, coordinated through TAF, potentially leading to future employment opportunities.


🕟 16:30 – Human Capital Development for Thai Screenwriting and Global Film Festival Promotion

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom discussed the project's origins and the need for a national initiative driven by industry feedback. The program focuses on strengthening screenwriting by integrating Lanchang cultural knowledge, addressing a gap in the creative sector that weakens Thailand’s film industry and Soft Power strategy. This effort connects with the ongoing Khon Kaen Film Festival, now in its sixth year, as a platform for international exposure.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Preecha Sarakorn, project researcher, addressed the "pain point" in Thailand's film production—screenwriting. He emphasized that a compelling script is critical for audience engagement and project sustainability. The project includes a structured curriculum for screenwriting, aiming to align with national KPIs and long-term cultural goals.

Prof. Dr. Sompong Klai-Nongsuang, PMU-B Director, concluded with strategic recommendations for regionalizing screenwriting initiatives by incorporating specific local knowledge and cultural narratives, encouraging broader participation and international reach.
