DEAN’s TALK: “Looking Back, Looking Ahead – 6 Decades of the Faculty of Science”

Led by Professor Dr. Sompong Klainongsuang, Director of PMU-B, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinan Kulchat, Deputy Director, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rina Patramanon, Chair of the Frontier Research Cluster Coordination Committee at PMU-B.

Ms. Jaturaporn Chokphukiaw, Chair of the Frontier Research Cluster Coordination Committee in Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts (SHA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI/Coding),participated in the DEAN’s TALK seminar titled“Looking Back, Looking Ahead – 6 Decades of the Faculty of Science,”featuring a panel of former and current deans of the Faculty of Science.

On February 28, 2024 (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM),at Witthayawiphat Room 1, Witthayawiphat Building, Faculty of Science,the DEAN’s TALK seminar titled“Looking Back, Looking Ahead – 6 Decades of the Faculty of Science”was held, featuring deans from past to present.

Key discussion topics included:

• Science and Thai Society, and significant events in the history of Thai astronomy

• Computers and Technology and their evolving roles in Thai education

• Key Drivers in the Development of the Faculty of Science:

  • Human resource development

  • Advancing toward frontier research

  • Infrastructure and essential support systems for teaching and research

The seminar also offered fascinating insights into the milestones and transformations of the Faculty of Science over the past 60 years.
